UK Cypriot Anthony Georgiou who signed for AEL Limassol on a two and a half year contract is riding high in Cyprus his team AEL are top of the table after beating Pafos 1-0 and he was voted by the AEL fans as man of the match.

It was Anthony Georgiou’s second appearance for the Limassol side he played in their 2-2 draw with Ermis Aradippou and their home win against Pafos.

23 year old Anthony Georgiou is familiar with Cypriot football as he is a Cyprus international and appeared eight times for them.

Georgiou made his professional debut for Tottenham in a 3–0 UEFA Champions League victory over Cypriot champions APOEL on 26 September 2017.

In the January 2019 transfer window Georgiou went out on loan to Spanish club Levante.On 19 August 2019, Georgiou signed a new contract with Tottenham until 2021.

AEL are currently in pole position same points as their Limassol rivals Apollon but on a superior goal difference..

Anthony’s grandparents origins are from Gypsou, Lefkara and Kyrenia, Cyprus.
