Turkey’s demand for a two-state solution is unacceptable, reprehensible, destructive and dangerous, AKEL MP Aristos Damianou stressed.
Speaking to the morning edition of ‘Astra’, he pointed out that Turkey’s claims must be addressed with persistence and insistence on the agreed framework of the solution of the Cyprus problem, namely on the basis of bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, with political equality.
Aristos Damianou noted that political equality is one of the most important issues that President Anastasiades experimented with, played games with and lost, and together the Greek Cypriot side also lost its credibility too.
The AKEL MP stressed that the talks must resume from where they had remained at Crans Montana so that we can assert the reunification of the country through a perspective. He pointed out that if President Anastasiades does not adhere to a decisive position based on principles, Turkey will continue with its illegal actions and will not be denounced by international opinion, but will eventually be praised.
