The British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has assured the President of the Republic of Cyprus that the UK is “committed to supporting a just and lasting solution to the division of Cyprus.”

In a post on Twitter from Cyprus, where he pays an official visit ahead of the UN-led talks on the Cyprus issue expected to take place next month, Mr Raab added: “I met the Republic of Cyprus President @AnastasiadesCY today to reiterate UK support and urge an open and flexible approach to #Cyprus Settlement talks.”

Mr Raab is also meeting Foreign Minister Christodoulides, the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and the UN Secretary-General’s special envoy Elizabeth Spehar.
