Cyprus police reported 97 individuals and one shop owner for violating protective measures to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
A Police spokesperson told CNA the force in the last 24 hours ending on 06:00 local time carried out 9,350 checks throughout the island.
 
In Nicosia, the Police carried out 2,240 checks reporting 11 individuals, in Limassol 52 individuals were reported following 1,565 checks, in Larnaca 1,452 checks have been carried out with 19 individuals reported and one shop owner, in Pafos 8 individuals were reported after 1,096, in Famagusta 5 individuals were reported following 1,141 checks, while 1 individual was reported in Morphou after 715 checks.
 
The Police Traffic Department carried out 1,041 checks reporting 1 individual while no reports were issued following 10 checks carried out by the Police Rapid Response Unit. The Port & Marine Police also carried out 50 checks with no fines issued.
