Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Rochester Close in Enfield.

Part of the ground floor of a terraced house and part of a garden shed were damaged by fire. One woman was assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

Station Officer Terence Jayes, who was at the scene, said: “On arrival we found a shed in the rear garden alight and there was heavy smoke coming out from the ground floor of the house.

“Crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control and made sure that the scene was safe and the property was secured.”

The Brigade was called at 0246 and the fire was under control by 0320. Fire crews from Enfield and Edmonton fire stations attended the scene.
