A total of 243 new coronavirus cases were diagnosed on Saturday in Cyprus, out of 40,747 tests.
The Ministry of Health announced that the positivity rate stands at 0,60%. The total number of citizens infected stands at 34,424.

Meanwhile, 78 patients receive treatment in state hospitals, 20 of whom in a serious condition.
No deaths were recorded on Saturday. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 231 people lost their lives to COVID19, 154 men, (67%), and 77 women (33%) with 79 being their median age.
Out of the 20 patients who are in a critical condition, 10 are intubated.
In the Famagusta General Hospital 21 patients receive treatment, 21 more are in the Nicosia General Hospital, 35 are in the Limassol General Hospital and one in the Makario Hospital in Nicosia.
Out of the 40,747 laboratory tests, 2,587 were carried out with the PCR method and 38,160 with the antigen rapid method and 243 new cases were found as follows: 38 from contact tracing of primary contacts, 2 from samples taken at airports, 26 from tests done after private initiative, 2 from samples taken at the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 1 from GP referrals, 1 from antigen rapid tests done in private laboratories and 173 from antigen rapid tests done through the Ministry of Health programme.
No cases were found after 61 samples taken from contact tracing of secondary contacts and 76 samples taken among passengers from the UK on the 7th day of their mandatory self isolation in hotels designated by the government.
