Authorities carried out a total of 1,177 checks at shops and other private enterprises which resumed business last week for adherence to rapid testing of employees and employers, in the framework of the health ministry decree.

An announcement by the Health Services says that during the week of 8-12 February  they made 1,177 checks at businesses with 4,743 employees and they issued 4 fines.

The checks were made at 200 hairdressing salons with 380 employees, at 81 beauty parlors with 129 members of staff, at 284 grocery stores with 1,815 employees, at 185 kiosks with 490 staff members and at 427 food services stores with 1,929 employees.

The Health Services note that there is a high degree of adherence to the measures for weekly rapid tests and call on employers and employees to continue with the same vigilance in order to contain the spread of the virus in the community.

Cyprus entered the second phase of relaxation of measures last week with the opening of shops and malls.
