Cypriot health authorities announced 107 new Covid cases, the same as yesterday following 35,028 checks with the daily positivity rate declining to 0.31%.
 
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health following today’s new cases the total number of coronavirus infections since the onset of the pandemic amounts to 33,260 while no deaths were announced for a second consecutive day with the total fatalities remaining at 229.
 
Furthermore, according to the Ministry, total hospitalizations rose to 81 from 77 yesterday of which 24 in serious condition.
 
Today 107 new covid infections were diagnosed following 35,28 tests of which 916 were PCR and 34,112 were rapid antigen tests.
According to the Ministry, 34 new cases were diagnosed in the context of contact tracing, 1 new case after 84 samples taken in the context of secondary contact tracing, 7 new cases after 351 PCR tests made privately, 5 cases from 145 tests carried out by General Hospitals Labs, whereas 60 new cases were diagnosed after 34,078 rapid antigen tests in the context of the Ministry’s testing programme.
 
Limassol continues to present the highest positivity rate with 0.40% as 39 new cases were diagnosed after 9,656 tests. In Nicosia 12 new cases were diagnosed after 14,328 tests with the positivity rate reaching 0.08%, in Larnaca positivity rate amounted to 0,08% as 4 new cases were found after 5,144 tests. In Pafos 3 new cases were diagnosed after 3,261 tests with the positivity rate at 0.09% and in Famagusta the positivity rate reached 0.11% as 2 new cases were diagnosed following 1,779 tests.
 
According to the Ministry, 81 persons are being treated in state hospitals of whom 24 are in serious condition. Fourteen patients are intubated, three are receiving treatment in Intensive Units and 7 are being treated in Increased Care Units.  

Total deaths remain since the onset of the pandemic last March remain at 229 of whom 153 are male and 76 female with an mean age of 79 years.
