Cypriot health authorities announced 128 new coronavirus cases following 27,085 tests, with the daily positive rate at 0.47%, which stands below 0.5% for a third consecutive day.
 
In a press release, the Ministry of Health announced that no fatalities from the virus were recorded today with total deaths since the start of the pandemic remaining at 202, while total positive cases amount to 31,124.
 
Furthermore, total hospitalisations continued their downward path declining to 121. Of the patients treated in state hospitals, 40 are in serious condition, of whom 23 are intubated, five treated in ICU but not connected to a ventilator, whereas 12 are treated in Advanced Care Units.
 
Total fatalities since the start of the pandemic last March remain at 202 (136 men and 66 women). The median age of those who have passed away due to COVID-19 is 79 years old.
 
According to the Ministry, today a total of 27,085 tests were carried out throughout Cyprus of which 1,609 with the PCR method and 25,476 were rapid antigen tests.
 
Of the PCR tests, 29 new cases were diagnosed after 241 samples taken in the context of contact tracing, 12 from 225 samples taken by General Hospitals Microbiology Labs and 9 following 562 samples tested privately. Furthermore, 78 tests new cases were diagnosed following 25,476 rapid tests.
