Cyprus Ministry of Health announced on Saturday 107 new Covid-19 cases from 31,755 PCR and antigen rapid test, a positivity rate 0,34%.

On the positive side, no new deaths were recorded.

The total number of Covid-19 cases increased to 33,153.

It was also announced that 77 people are being treated in hospitals of whom 22 are in serious condition. Twelve patients are intubated, three are receiving treatment in Intensive Units and 7 are being treated in Increased Care Units.  

Twenty-one patients are being treated in Famagusta Hospital, 24 are in Nicosia General Hospital, in Limassol Hospital there are 31 inpatients while in Makario Hospital one patient is receiving treatment.
 
Health authorities announced that 23 new cases were detected from 261 samples taken in the framework of close contacts of confirmed cases, one case was found from 94 samples taken from secondary contacts.

Another 4 infections were detected from 290 samples taken from passengers in Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
Twelve infections were found from 1,167 samples taken on private initiative. Moreover, 6 cases were detected out of 206 tests carried out by General Hospitals Labs, 4 infections were reported by private labs from 232 antigen rapid test, 57 cases were found from 29,244 antigen rapid tests.
No infections were found after testing 258 samples taken on GP’s referrals and special groups screening at Public Health Centers and 3 tests carried out in the framework of screening of Cyprus Basketball and Volleyball Federations members.
