Detectives investigating a stabbing in Islington are appealing for witnesses, information and anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.

Police were called at 15:30hrs on Thursday, 4 February to Battishill Street N1 to reports of an injured male.

Officers, London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] attended. At the scene a 21-year-old man was found suffering from stab wounds.

The injured male was taken to a central London hospital where his condition is critical.

Enquiries established that the incident took place at Upper Street, N1, close to Canonbury Lane.

There have been no arrests at this stage.

A crime scene is in place and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help police to call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 4478/04FEB.
