Τhe Cyprus authorities on Thursday announced three deaths from COVID-19 and 241 new cases.
The total number of deaths is 166 and the total number of cases reached 28,365.

Moreover, according to the Health Ministry 202 patients are getting treatment in hospitals island-wide, of whom 59 in serious condition.

The 241 new cases were detected among 10,328 tests (PCR and rapid). The positivity rate is 2,33%.

The deceased are a male 79 years old, with underlying conditions, who was getting treatment at Famagusta Reference Hospital, a 75 year old male without any underlying condition who was at the General Hospital in Limassol and a 76 year old male with underlying condition, who was also being treated at the Limassol General Hospital.

Of the 166 deceased, the 110 are male (66%) and 56 female (34%) and the median age is 79 years.

A total of 202 patients are getting treatment at hospitals island-wide and 59 are in serious condition, 32 of whom are intubated , 5 are in an ICU and 22 in ACU.

The 241 cases were detected as follows:

75 from 456 samples in the framework of contact tracing, 5 from 168 tests done at airports, 33 from 955 samples taken at private intiative, 20 from 400 tests done at Microbiological labs of General Hospitals, 1 from 98 tests from GP referrals and done at public clinics, 107 from 8,187 rapid tests.

No case was detected in samples taken on the 7th day, from 64 passengers who are in quarantine (arrivals from the UK).
