Cyprus Police reported 157 individuals and 4 shops over the violation of measures, aiming to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
 
A police spokesperson told CNA that the force has carried out a total of 13,059 checks throughout Cyprus in the last 24hours ending on 06.00 am (local time) on Saturday.
 
In the capital Nicosia, the Police carried out 3,712 checks reporting 51 individuals and two shops, 4,009 in Limassol with 47 individuals and 1 shop reported, while 5 individuals were reported in Larnaca following 980 checks.

In Pafos a total of 913 checks were carried out with 15 individual and 1 shop reported, 2,145 checks were made in Famagusta with 30 individuals reported, while 834 checks were carried out in Morphou with two individuals reported.

Furthermore, the Police Traffic Department carried out 408 checks, mainly on highways reporting 7 individuals, while no fines were issued following 17 and 41 checks, carried out by the Police’s Rapid Response Unit and Port and Marine Police respectively.
