A total of 7,153 inoculations against Covid-19 took place between 16-22 January, the Cyprus Health Ministry announced on Saturday, adding that 5,448 jab appointments are now available for citizens over 90. So far 15,322 people have received the first dose of the vaccine.

The vaccination portal will open on Monday at 0900 local time and the inoculations will be taking place between January 27 – February 5.

The vaccinations are carried out by 11 units at 9 centres island wide.

One more vaccination center will begin its operation at Linopetra, in Limassol district, while more units are made available for vaccinations at Latsia, Lakatamia and Paphos. Moreover the Ministry has extended the operation hours in Larnaka and added more days in Lakatamia and Famagusta in order to accommodate the public.

The Ministry will be announcing the new appointments and the age group as vaccinations are progressing. 

From the 7,153 inoculations between 16-22 January, the  2,057 were administered to residents and staff of care homes and to health professionals on the frontline at public and private hospitals and clinics island wide. These citizens got the 2nd dose of the vaccine while 5,096 were vaccinated for the 1st time. The total citizens who were vaccinated with the 1st dose amounts to 15,322.
