Another two people have died from Covid-19 while 529 have been reported out of a total of 12,051 samples tested, Cyprus authorities announced on Sunday, noting at the same time that 182 patients are being treated in hospital, 45 in a serious condition.

Deaths from the disease in Cyprus have reached 131 (87 men and 44 women) while the total number of people who have been infected by the coronavirus is 23,974, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.

The two people who passed away were a man of 68 years of age without underlying health conditions who was being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital’s ICU and a woman aged 76 with underlying health conditions who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital which operates as the reference hospital for Covid-19.
 
The average age of people dying from the disease is 80.

 One hundred and eighty two patients are being treated at state hospitals for Covid-19. The condition of 45 of them is serious Nineteen are intubated, 9 of them are being treated at an ICU but have not been intubated and 17 are being treated in an increased care unit.

Out of a total 12,051 laboratory tests completed today, 2,839 (pcr) and 9,212 (antigen rapid test), 529 samples tested positive for Covid-19.
