Police in Cyprus handed out 85 fines in the last 24 hours for violations of measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

A Police press officer told CNA that Police conducted 6,265 checks and reported 6 establishments and 79 citizens.
 
In the Nicosia district there were 2,246 checks (two premises owners and 33 individuals reported), in Limassol 1,781 checks (one premises owner and 16 citizens reported) in Larnaca 698 checks (10 citizens reported), in Pafos  907 checks (2 premises owners and 6 people reported), in Famagusta  447 checks (10 citizens reported) and in Morphou police conducted 186 checks with no reports.

Moreover the Port Police carried out 18 checks during which no one was reported. No fines were handed out at the airports either.
