One of the biggest games of the season that was played midweek ended goalless the top of the table clash between league leaders Apollon and third placed Omonia wasn’t as exciting as it was billed to be.
Omonia back on form dominated the game but their finishing touch was poor.
It was the second time within s week that these two teams were playing each other the previous match between the the two sides Omonia won 3-0.

This result leaves Apollon alone at the top of the table with 40 points, although they can be overtaken by AEL if they win their game in hand, while Omonia remain in third with 37 points.

In Wednesday’s earlier game Apoel and AEK also shared the points after the two sides drew 1-1 in Nicosia.

Apoel trying tò pick up the pieces after their disastrous start to the season had a mountain to climb after going down to 10 men following Tomás De Vincenti’s 32nd minute sending off and going behind 14 minutes into the second half

Apoel equalised after only a minute though, to bring the game back level.
Since the sacking of their previous manager Mick McCarthy they have won one and drawn one game in their two matches.

The result leaves Apoel in 10th place with 20 points and AEK in 5th place with 30 points.
