Cyprus Health Ministry announced on Tuesday οne death from COVID-19 disease and 569 new cases. Moreover, it announced that 179 patients are being treated in hospitals and 50 of them are in serious condition.
 
The total deaths from the virus in Cyprus since the beginning of the pandemic are 134 and the total cases reached 25,208. The 569 new cases were detected from a total of 14,309 PCR and antigen rapid tests.
 
The deceased is an 84 year old woman with underlying conditions, who was hospitalized at Famagusta Reference Hospital. From the 134 people who lost their lives to the disease, 89 (66%) are males and 45 (34%) females. The median age is 80 years.
 
From the 50 patients in serious condition, the 25 are intubated, 6 are in an ICU and 19 in an ACU (Advanced Care Unit).
 
The positive cases were detected as follows:

151 from 819 samples of contacts of confirmed cases, 4 from 612 tests done at airports, 36 from 1,170 tests done on private initiative, one from 212 tests done on GP referrals and by public clinics, 21 from 449 tests at the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals island-wide and 356 from 10,889 rapid tests.
 
No cases were detected from 158 samples from people on the 7th day of quarantine (arrivals from UK).
