An earthquake of the magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale shook Cyprus on Thursday afternoon.

According to EMSC website, the quake was registered at a depth of 60 km, 42 km east of the capital Nicosia. It was felt in all regions of the island.

The House Plenary which was debating at the time the revised 2021 state budget had to interrupt its deliberations for a few minutes because of the quake.
