US President-elect Joe Biden said in a letter he has sent to Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades, that he looks forward to work with Anastasiades and the Cyprus government to address the common challenges which the two countries and their peoples are facing, as well as to have a meeting with President Anastasiades.

Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Koushos said in a written statement that Biden sent a letter to Anastasiades to thank him for his letter congratulating him after his election at the US Presidency.

According to Koushos, Biden said in his letter that he and the US Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, take over the US Presidency in an era of global challenges, as the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, that extend well beyond the national boundaries and demand international cooperation.

Biden also noted that he looks forward to work together with the President of the Republic and the Cyprus government to address the common challenges which the two countries and their peoples are facing.

He also noted that he looks forward to hold a new meeting with President Anastasiades, Koushos conclude
