Three people lost their lives on Wednesday due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 104, 66 men (63%), and
38 women (37%) with median age 80 years.

The Ministry of Health announced that 146 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals, 34 of whom in a critical condition.

In the last 24 hours 14,188 tests were carried out to detect the coronavirus, 4,343 with the PCR method and 9,845 antigen rapid tests. A total of 477 new coronavirus cases were reported, 175 of which are verifications of antigen rapid tests done in the previous days.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic 18,883 people have been infected with the virus.

Meanwhile, the Ministry announced that 233 people tested positive with the antigen rapid test, but this has to be verified with the PCR method.

The three people who died were a man of 90 years of age, with underlying conditions, a woman of 94 and another woman of 97 years both with underlying conditions.

In the state hospitals 146 patients are being treated, 34 of whom in a critical condition. In the Famagusta General Hospital there are 70 patients, in the Nicosia General Hospital 39, in the Limassol General Hospital 35 and in the Makario Hospital in Nicosia 2.

The new cases were found as follows: 133 through contact tracing, 4 from tests at airports, 118 through private initiative,
46 from samples taken at the Microbiology Labs of the General Hospitals, 1 from GP referral and 175
were verifications of rapid tests done in previous days.

No cases were found after 53 tests carried out among the residents of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias.
