Cyprus Health Ministry announced two more deaths from COVID-19 on Monday and 416 new cases of which 200 are confirmed cases of rapid tests done in the previous days.
Moreover it announced that 126 citizens are getting treatment at hospitals island-wide and 20 are in critical condition. Nine are intubated, 4 are in the ICU and 7 in the Advanced Care Unit.
The total number of deaths in the Republic reached 63 (41 male-65% and 22 female -35%) with median age 77 years and the total number of cases 12,867 .
Τhe total number of tests today were 9,452, 4,347 via PCR and 5,105 rapid tests of which 127 came back positive, but need to be confirmed by PCR.
The deceased are males, aged 84 and 89 with underlying conditions. They were getting treatment at the Famagusta Reference Hospital.
The 416 cases were detected as follows:
144 from 948 tests on the framework of contact tracing
9 from 2,144 tests at airports
48 from 556 tests on private initiative
10 from 243 tests conducted at the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals
5 from 186 samples from GP referrals and from checks at public clinics
200 from 210 rapid tests which were confirmed via PCR
No case was detected in 90 tests done for Kato Pyrgos village.
