Cyprus Police handed out 78 fines during the last 24 hours for violations of measures aiming at containing the spread of COVID-19.

A police spokesperson told CNA that the police reported 75 citizens and three premises island-wide after conducting 6,511 checks.

In Nicosia the police carried out 2,179 checks and booked 16 citizens. In Limassol they conducted 2,075 checks and reported 15 citizens and one establshment.

In Larnaca the police carried out 593 checks and reported 9 citizens, while in Paphos they conducted 779 checks and reported two premises and 15 citizens.

In Famagusta the police carried out 726 checks and reported 15 ciizens, while in Morphou they conducted 213 checks and booked one citizen.

The Port Police conducted 11 checks without reporting anyone.
