Cyprus police handed out 102 fines from 0600 local time on Saturday to 0600 on Sunday for violations of measures against the spread of COVID-19 out of a total of 10,472 checks carried out island-wide.
Ninety-three citizens and nine establishments were reported.
A police spokesperson told CNA that a total of 4,103 checks were conducted in Nicosia where they reported 23 citizens and three premises. In Limassol they carried out 3,658 checks and reported 34 citizens and two premises. In Larnaca 470 checks were conducted and 8 citizens and one establishment were booked. In Paphos the police carried out 793 checks and reported 3 premises and 15 citizens. In Famagusta they conducted 864 checks and booked 13 citizens, while in Morphou they carried out 296 checks without anyone being reported.
No violations were found during 18 checks carried out by the port police.
