Cyprus Health Ministry on Monday announced the death of one person from COVID-19 and 286 news cases.
The total deaths in the Republic reached 96. Moreover 127 people are in hospitals island wide, 31 of whom are in serious condition.
The 286 cases were detected from a total of 3,929 PCR tests. Another 8,843 were rapid tests bringing total of tests to 12,772 .

From the 286 cases, the 156 were confirmed from the rapid tests done in previous days. The total cases in the Republic have reached 18,004.

From the rapid tests, 312 came back positive but need to be confirmed via a PCR.

The deceased is a male, 89 years old with underlying conditions who was getting treatment at the Reference Hospital in Famagusta.
From the 96 deaths, 62 are male and 34 females and the median age is 79 years of age.

From the 31 patients in serious condition, the 15 are intubated and 16 are in the Advanced Care Unit.

Today’s cases were detected as follows:
65 were detected from 540 tests in the framework of contact tracing, 8 from 2,004 tests done at airports, 40 out of
806 samples taken on private initiative, 17 from 262 tests at Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals and 156 from 165 tests done to confirm positive rapid tests of previous days.

Zero cases were found in 116 tests done following referrals from GPs and at public clinics.
