AEK Youth FC Match Reports

Two cup victories for AEK U12s & U18s today both vs Alexandra Park teams.

AEK U18s
A tough League Cup quarter final against a strong Alexandra Park Team fro the top division, one above AEK. Whilst AEK dominated possession in the early stages they could not break the deadlock until Stefano neatly finished into the bottom corner from outside the area to take the lead. AP pulled one back just before half time.

The second half was equally tight with both teams having chances, but it took a wonder strike into the top corner this time from outside the area from Stefano again to put AEK in front again. AP pegged AEK back again and it looked like extra time was to follow but two late clinical strikes from Aiden and Thomas saw AEK book their place in the semi final. 4-3 win for AEK U18s.

Goals : Stefano Michael x2, Aiden Walsh and Thomas Pritchett.
MOM : Thomas Pritchett

AEK U12s
Fantastic performance from AEK U12s who progress in the League Cup following on from a hard fought battle.

With an evenly-contested first half, Alexandra Park made a breakthrough with a good counter-attacking goal to go 1-0 ahead at half time.

At the interval, AEK changed tactics and personnel, which immediately paid dividends with an excellent long range effort from Marcus. This seemed to galvanise AEK who began playing with more purpose and desire and deservedly took the lead with a swift counter-attack from Deen who played Lucca in to calmly slot past the keeper.
With momentum firmly with AEK, their lead was extended with a fine Deen goal. With chances at both ends, Alexandra Park managed to claw one back via an unlucky AEK own goal to make it 3-2. With AP pushing hard for the equaliser to force extra time, AEK stood firm and repelled everything that AP were throwing at them, coming out deserved winners 3-2.

Goals – Marcus, Lucca, Deen.
MOM Elias- a solid defensive display at right back showing tremendous work ethic and tidy play.
