Puppet regime reviews decision for negative COVID-19 PCR test after representations by the Republic of Cyprus

The Turkish Cypriot puppet regime reviewed on Monday a decision it had taken on Saturday that people crossing in the Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus would have to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test done within the last 24 hours. As a result the previous arrangement of people showing negative COVID-19 PCR tests carried out within the last 72 hours comes into effect as of midnight, CNA has learned.

The Republic of Cyprus had earlier made representations to the UN in Cyprus, which contacted the “authorities” of the puppet regime to address the issue

Moreover the Greek Cypriot members of the bicommunal Technical Committee on Health raised the problems created due to the regime`s decisions to the Turkish Cypriot members of the Committee during a meetingĀ  they had at midday on Monday through a teleconference.

Greek Cypriot co-chair of the Committee, Leonidas Phylaktou, told CNA that “we explained that is is practically impossible for this measure to be implemented and that there is no time to carry out this test so often.”
