Cyprus Police carried out 2,557 checks during the last 24 hours, in the framework of the campaign for the implementation of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, booking 59 citizens and four premises.
Citizens were reported for violating movement restrictions and for not wearing face masks and premises for insufficient signs regarding anti-COVID measures.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that 372 checks were carried out in Nicosia where 10 citizens were reported. The Police also conducted 445 checks in Limassol where they booked 11 citizens and 547 checks in Larnaka, where 14 citizens were reported.
In Famagusta the Police carried out 393 checks and reported two citizens and two premises, while they booked two premises and 21 citizens in Paphos where 721 checks were conducted.
The Police also carried out 41 checks in Morfou where one citizen was reported.
The Port Police conducted 38 checks. No one was reported.
A woman who is a Famagusta resident and has tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be in self-isolation was reported for violating the restrictive measures as she was found to be in a public place.
