Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of an assault in Waltham Cross High Street.
The incident occurred opposite the Wheatsheaf pub, at around 12.45am on Sunday 9 August.
It is alleged that man struck a woman across her back and neck with a metal pole. She suffered bruising and swelling.
Detective Constable Sarah Lingard said: “It is believed that there were a number of people in the area at the time and I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened and hasn’t yet spoken to police, to please get in touch.”
