On Saturday the Ministry of Health announced eleven new Covid-19 cases that were detected in Cyprus, from a total of 3,314 lab tests, bringing the total number of cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in Cyprus to 1.233.

According to data by the Epidemiological Monitoring Unit, the eleven cases were detected as follows:

Six cases were found in 144 samples from contact tracing of existing cases. Four of them are from the cluster of the case that came from the USA.
 
Four of the cases were found in 797 samples and  concern people who tested on a private initiative, of which 2 had a travel history.
 
One other positive cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was detected out of 321 tests, through the screening program of 10,000 employees,

Additionally, tests were also carried out with no cases detected as follows:  140 tests carried out by the General Hospitals` Microbiology Labs, 141 under the program of referrals by Personal Doctors and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 1,437 from passenger control, 131 tests at the crossing points, 203 from the program of random tests of 10,000 people. 

At the Famagusta General Hospital, five patients are still being treated. Their condition is described by the doctors as stable.
