Police probed 1,150 premises islandwide the last 24 hours for violations of COVID-19 restrictive measures and charged 40 citizens for not wearing a protective mask and 19 owners of premises for decree violations.
In Nicosia the Police carried out 115 checks and issued charged against 7 premises and 16 persons, in Limassol the checks were 333 with charges against one premise and 16 people, in Larnaka 237 checks were made and the Police charged 2 premises and 5 persons. One of the premises did not have the proper identifications and a fine for 500 euro was issued while the second one was fined with a fine of 1,500 euro for not following the decree on distances between the tables.
In Paphos the Police carried out 52 checks and charges were made against 7 premises and one person, in Famagusta 247 checks were made with 4 charges against 2 employees and 2 customers who did not wear a face masks. In Morphou 166 checks were made and no charges were issued.
Moreover, 6 passengers were charged for not filling out the Cyprus flight pass.
