Issues concerning cooperation between Cyprus and France in energy and defence, bilateral relations, Turkey’s provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as EU priorities, will be discussed on Thursday in Paris between President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

According to a presidency press release, President Anastasiades will be received this morning by Macron and, after the welcoming ceremony, both Presidents will make statements to the press.

They will then meet in the presence of the members of their delegations to discuss cooperation between Cyprus and France in energy and defence, bilateral relations, Turkey’s provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as issues concerning EU priorities.

The Cypriot delegation comprises Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides, Minister of Defence Charalambos Petrides, Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos, Cyprus’ Ambassador in Paris Pantias Eliades, Advisor to the President of the Republic on Energy issues Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, and other officials.

Earlier, the Minister of Defence will be meeting his French counterpart, Florence Parly.

President Anastasiades and the Cypriot delegation will be returning to Cyprus later today.
