Cyprus health authorities announced that no new Covid-19 infections were detected on Wednesday after 2,465 tests with the total tally of persons that contracted the virus remaining at 1,040.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Health said that the authorities carried out 217 tests in the context of checking 10,000 employees who went back to work during phase B and C of easing restrictive measures, 102 tests have been completed as part of the contact tracing programme, while 261 tests were carried out after private initiative.
Furthermore, 1,407 tests were completed in the context of samples taken from passengers and repatriates, 94 tests were carried out by the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals island-wide, 183 were made as part of referrals from personal doctors and special groups screening through the public health centres, while 201 test were carried out in the context of testing samples taken among new National Recruits.
