Police are appealing for information after a police car was rammed and an officer injured in the N7 area.

The incident happened at around 09:30hrs on Monday, 22 June.

Officers from the Met’s Road Crime Team were on patrol in Parkhurst Road N7 when they signalled for a vehicle to stop.

The vehicle, a white Porsche Panamera, pulled over in a car park. The driver refused to get out of the car and then rammed the police car.

One officer received minor injuries when the door of the police car was forced against his leg. He remained on duty.

Another officer on foot tried to stop the car, which drove at him. No contact was made and the officer was uninjured.

The police car was extensively damaged.

The car then made off, striking five cars belonging to members of the public. The Porsche finally struck yet another car belonging to a member of the public in Williamson Street, N7.

No members of the public were injured.

The driver left the car and ran off from the scene.

The driver is described as in his early 20s, with a tanned complexion.

Inspector James Beattie from the Road Crime Team, said: “The driver of this vehicle has driven extremely dangerously to evade police, and it is lucky that police officers were not seriously injured. The Road Crime Team and detectives from Roads and Transport Policing Command are undertaking a thorough investigation and pursuing multiple lines of enquiry. I would appeal to any witnesses to come forward, and for the driver of this vehicle to hand himself in at the earliest opportunity”
