The X Factor will not return in 2020

Popular ITV show, The X Factor, will not be returning this year.
It is understood Simon Cowell is considering changes to the talent show, which has been running for 16 years, and is giving The X Factor a rest.
It’s expected to return to our screens in 2021.
Simon attempted to revamp the format last year by introducing two new versions, X Factor: Celebrity and X Factor: The Band, but their ratings took an even bigger dive.
The X Factor launched the careers of chart superstars One Direction, Olly Murs, JLS, James Arthur and Leona Lewis but in the recent years, show winners have struggled to make an impact, both in the charts and with television audiences.
