Storm Ciara takes its toll on Community and local Sunday football

Storm Ciara took its toll on the community football on Sunday only one game in the KOPA League took place the other three fixtures Cinar v Akanthou, Armenian Youth v Olympia and Omonia v Panathinaikos. Also all the Omonia Youth and AEK Youth fixtures in the Watford Friendly League never took place.
It was not only a case of the pitches not being in a good state to play on but the surround of trees being blown away and players being hurt.
Also it was dangerous to travel to games
with road blocks in several place where trees have fallen and blocking paths and roads and cars and people even being blown away
The only game was in the KOPA League Pantel v Komi Kebir both teams and Komi struggled with the conditions.
Komi started well when within 2 minutes Anthony Georgiou was one on one and finished easily. Pantel refocused and grew into the game and deservedly levelled after a good move through George Costa . Both teams then settled down but most of the half was played out battling against the conditions as well as each other.

Pantel came out flying in the second half and scored two quick goals at the restart to make it 3-1 through Christian and Chris Spyrou (Photo above).
Komi asked more questions of Pantel throughout the 2nd half and with 20 minutes remaining, Anthony Georgiou scored again making it 3-2.
Pantel replied almost immediately and made it 4-2 with a Anthony shot from distance. Komi kept on going and with 10 minutes remaining Uljan Tafa made it 4-3 with a header.
Komi were looking for the equaliser but Pantel hit them on the counter attack with a goal from Costa and finished the game, 5-3.
