An evening at the House of Commons, David Astburys giving back to the community

On Thursday 6th February, our founding partners at David Astburys – George Sifonios, Yianni Aresti, Aaron Cox and Nikhil Depala were honoured to have been invited to the launch of Next Meal, by founder Martin Stone at the Houses of Commons in Westminster.

Next Meal is an app developed by Martin Stone which uses GPS technology to direct the homeless and people in need to centres providing food, shelter and help.

Martin was kind enough to invite us because of the continued support and donations we have made to The Soup Kitchen at The Muswell Hill Baptist Church.

It was a special event held at a special and historic location. It was inspiring to hear from all the inspirational speakers such as comedians Sean Lock and Harry Hill, MPs Catherine West and Adam Holloway.

David Astburys supports many charities and community groups and over the Christmas season the entire team volunteered at The Soup Kitchen, which is operated by Martin Stone. We donated and compiled care packages for those less fortunate; it is an organisation close to the team and embedded in the local community.

George Sifonios, Founder at David Astburys, said, “We really focused on connecting with local charities and community groups in 2019 and we plan to build on this further in 2020. Martin and his team of volunteers at The Soup Kitchen are dedicated and hard-working and we will continue to support all their initiatives, including Next Meal as they provide essential services for those in our community.”

Yianni Aresti, Founder and Lettings Director said, “The response from the extended North London community to all the appeals for donations for the various causes we are partnered with has been astounding. We are always blown away by the level of support we receive from the community and are very grateful for it.”
