50th anniversary of the Federation of Cyprus Communities of Australia and New Zealand

On the occasion of the 48th annual conference of the Federation of Cyprus Communities of Australia and New Zealand, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Federation, High Commissioner Martha A. Mavrommatis and the President of Cyprus Community of Canberra,

Mrs Georgia Alexandrou, hosted the delegates at the High Commission. His Eminence Archbishop of Australia Makarios and the Hon. Senator Zed Seselja (representing the Prime Minister) honored us with their presence.

During the inaugural ceremony HE the Archbishop Makarios blessed us with the cutting of vasiloppita (Saint Basils pie).

Moreover, the President of the Federation Mr Michael Christodoulou awarded Deputy High Commissioner Mr Vakis Zissimos and our colleague Mrs Kay Sellas, for their outstanding service towards the communities.
