I was very proud last Sunday to take part in the official Remembrance Day ceremony of Barnet Council at the cenotaph in Hendon. I was representing the Cyprus a Regiment and also my wife’s father and uncle, Costas and Louis Sofocleous.
The ceremony was very moving, reverent and above all dignified and with love for our glorious dead, from the First and Second World Wars.
The prayers by different religious dominations expressed peace and harmony in our life.
” For all those who gave their lives in the service of their country, we pray for the peace of the world, that men and women everywhere may be able to live in peace and harmony one with another. For the rulers of the world, that they may strive for peace and justice, rather than oppression and war.”
My personal best wishes for peace and the reunification of Cyprus.
