The 9th Paul Strank Roofing Charity Gala took place last month in South London raising money for charities such as Shooting Stars Children’s Hospices, Rays of Sunshine, Carer’s Support Merton and many others.

The star spangled event was sponsored by Burge & Gunson, The Newridge Group, Tony Britto Roofing and took place at the prestigious Bank of England Sports Centre in Roehampton.

The event was hosted by Shaun Williamson who played Barry in the BBC soap Eastenders for many years. The keynote speaker was Cypriot and Aradippou born Merton Council Borough Leader, Cllr Stephen Alambritis. Performers included Shayne Ward, Sam Bailey, The Overtones and Greek rising star, Antigoni Buxton.

The event is now an annual calendar event gaining much in the way of publicity in the media and is always sold out. Paul Strank Roofing is headed by husband and wife team Paul and Irene Strank. The business is celebrating 50 years of trade and is known for its work in the community.

Speaking after the event Cypriot Cllr Alambritis said, “I am so proud of Paul and Irene and all they do for disadvantaged children. They are a credit to our business community here in Merton.”
