London Lions 0 – 2 New Salamis

Salamina kept up their impressive away form with a comfortable win at London Lions. The Lions had the share of the play in the first 15 minutes but then it was all Salamina. New Manager Gaz Dauti and Terry Spillane had picked a new side, bringing in two new centre backs, and had the returning Charlie Georgiou in the Side.
Salamina’s chances flowed George Lutaaya was inspired on the right and brought out a great save from the Lions keeper. Luke Foster then hit the post from a curling free kick.

The deadlock was broken when Charlie Georgiou was brought down, he was very impressive causing the Lions defence no end of problems and when he won the penalty in the 40th minute. Skipper Ryan Hervel stepped up and fired into the corner. 1 – 0
The second half saw the lions reduced to 10 men early on and Salamina were unlucky not to go further ahead when John Kyriacou’s diving header from a Deniz Mehmet cross was ruled out for offside.
Lions were then reduced to 9 men when the keeper crudely took out Deniz.

Courtney Austin stepped up to take the spot kick and made it 2-0.

The reds cruised home and took 3 valuable points.
