Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters have been called to a fire at a warehouse on White Hart Lane in Tottenham.

The ground floor, first floor and roof of a two storey warehouse unit are currently alight.

Station Manager Mark Jordan is at the scene, he said: “Crews are making steady progress. They continue to work hard to contain the fire and have successfully stopped it spreading to other units.

“Local residents are being advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the smoke from the fire as crews work to bring the blaze under control.

“The road is currently closed in both directions west of the A10 Great Cambridge Road to Rivulet Road. For anyone attending the Tottenham vs. Southampton football match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 3pm this afternoon, this incident will not affect play but it’s advisable to check your route before travelling to the football ground due to road closures.”

The Brigade was called at 0337 and is still at the scene. Fire crews from Hornsey, Edmonton, Southgate, Stoke Newington, Holloway, Walthamstow and Enfield fire stations are in attendance.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage
