PROFESSIONAL BOXING IS REKINDLED AT LEE VALLEY, EDMONTON – SATURDAY, 24TH NOVEMBER 2018

Edmonton once again hosts top quality pro boxing.

Lee Valley Athletics Centre, the home of UK athletics performance training and formerly known as Pickets Lock, is a venue that would feature in any British boxing hall of fame.

Older boxing fans could never forget the emotional night at the Lock in 1986, when Hackney’s Dennis Andries outpointed the vaunted American JB Williamson to win the WBC World light heavyweight title.

Bruno, McGuigan, McDonnell and a host of other names from the British Boxing whose who, graced the venue with their thrills and skills.

25 years on, Board licensed Premier Boxing Promotions rekindles the pro boxing flame at the old venue.

The man behind Premier, Costas Evangelou, is used to turning things around in his job as a community priest and boxing club director. Faith, work ethic and positivity are his hallmarks so the move to promoting pro boxing doesn’t faze him one iota.

The historic 24th November event, featuring many local fighters, is previewed by the official press conference at Lee Valley on Wednesday 14th November from 6.30pm.
