Football legends Rio Ferdinand and Bobby Zamora were on the Cyprus Tourism stand  at World Travel Market today to launch a football partnership with a luxury hotel in Cyprus.

On hand to tell them about Cyprus was the Minister of Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis who has traveled to London to participate in the World Travel Market (WTM), the leading global event for the travel industry, taking place on the 5 – 7 November 2018.

The former professionals have joined with the new Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, to run Football Escapes, starting in May 2019.

The resort will have a world-class Football Academy featuring coaching from the pair.

Week-long courses will offer one training session a day and are available on select dates throughout 2019 to children between the ages of five and 15.

Children receive a full kit, including shirt, shorts and socks, and training from UEFA licensed coaches from renowned English Premier League clubs.
Lakkotrypis will hold a number of meetings with British airline representatives and tour operators.

The Cypriot delegation’s visit is organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists’ Federation as well as the Cyprus – British Business Association.

Lakkotrypis will travel to Brussels on Thursday, November 8 to participate in the EU Council on Foreign Relations.
