Silver medal for Cypriot team in World Championship of Compak Sporting in Italy
Following the second place it has won in the European Championship in Larnaca, Cyprus’ compak team won the silver medal in the World Championship of Compak Sporting too, which took place in Rio Salso, Italy.
The Cypriot team comprised shooters Petros Ioannou, Lefkios Miltiadous and Andreas Andreou, who won the silver medal with 579/600.
In the individual games, Petros Ioannou came in 10th with 195/200, Lefkios Miltiadous 19th with 194/200 and Andreas Andreou 61st with 190/200, among around 700 athletes.
Additional individual Cypriots shooters Angelos Avraam and Michalis Kakis came in 37th with 191/200.
There were also Cypriot entries in the seniors’ category, where Cypriots Antonis Antoniou came in 19th with 183/200, Loukas Hamatsos 24th with 181/200 and Aristophanis Christodoulou 68th with 165/200, among 115 athletes.
Head of the mission and board member of the Cyprus Shooting Federation and FITASC, Loukas Hamatsos, said the Cypriot team met its aims and was satisfied with the results.
