With the US Open just over a week away, Marcos kicked off his campaign at the Winston-Salem Open. where he faced Spanish veteran Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the first round but losing 7-6 6-4.

Marcos will look to carry the strong run of form from his quarterfinal run in Atlanta and second round finish in Washington to the American Open.
