Man found dead in river Thames has been identified

Detectives were appealing for the public’s help to identify a man who was found near Putney Embankment.

On Thursday, 26 July police were called at 19:20 hours by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) following reports that they had seen a man in the River Thames.

The man was taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives believe they have identified that man as a Lithuanian national.

Detectives are working with Lithuanian authorities to inform next of kin.
