New Salamis News

Today’s Match Report:

A great test for New Salamis today vs Step 5 Walthamstow FC.

Walthamstow started very strongly with a very experienced side, and had the better of the early exchanges.

Salamina’s quality started to show and Hervel & Fisher started pulling the strings in midfield.

Salamina were to go ahead through a great strike from Harrison Georgiou from 20 yards out that flew over the keeper into the net. 1-0

Walthamstow threatened but Salamina defence was strong, Andreas Chambi & Andy Anastasiou win every battle alongside Marcus Rose.

Young Nicholas Kouroushi wriggled his way through the defence and his low drive was saved. Charlie Crowley in goal for Salamina mopped up anything Walthamstow could muster.

The second half saw the returning Charlie Georgiou make a great impact. Salamina were strong and sharp everywhere, with fitness returning.

Salamina best chance came from trialist Christos Kleanthous whose acrobatic volley was well saved.

Walthamstow then piled on the pressure towards the end of the game and equalised, and they really pressurised the Salamina defence in the latter stages, but they stood strong and the game finished 1-1.
