New affordable homes built in Waltham Cross

Council and B3Living representatives gathered on Friday 22 June for the unveiling of three new affordable homes in Berwick Close, Waltham Cross.

The modern new builds have already been allocated to successful bidders from the Council’s housing register.

All three homes are owned and managed by housing association B3Living. The properties are two-bedroom houses, each with a garden including a shed, two double bedrooms, a downstairs toilet, an upstairs bathroom, and ample storage space.

Councillor Paul Seeby, Cabinet Member for Planning and Community Development was present to view the properties and said: “It’s delightful to be present at this most recent viewing of affordable homes which have been designed and built to a high standard.”

“As we work with B3Living towards the goal of providing more affordable homes, we couldn’t be happier to see these plans come to fruition, but most importantly we feel a great sense of satisfaction just knowing that these properties will soon become a family’s safe haven.”

Steven Tarry, B3Living’s Director of Development and Asset Management, said: “We’re really pleased with the way these homes have turned out. They not only look great but they have been built with comfort, practicality and convenience in mind.

“All three properties have spacious rooms with good sources of natural lighting throughout, great storage and will have very low fuel bills, meaning that they will remain affordable to live in. Through good design and careful specification, we believe these homes will benefit many future generations.”

B3Living is currently constructing in Churchgate, Cheshunt seven two-bedroom flats that will also be available at an affordable rent, and is building three new houses on its land at Beltona Gardens. Furthermore, 36 homes for rent and shared ownership are being built at the former Britannia Nurseries site in Waltham Cross in partnership with Higgins Homes.

Additionally, a site in Park Lane, Waltham Cross will be redeveloped to provide ten houses and two flats. The housing association has also received planning consent for 21 flats in Brewery Road, Hoddesdon.

All the properties will be let to applicants on the Council’s Housing and Transfer Register in line with the Borough’s Allocations Policy.
