NEPOMAK 2018 conference in Nicosia approaches
NEPOMAK UK and its members are packed, prepared and eager for another fantastic summer in Cyprus. NEPOMAK Cyprus Cultural Tour (NCCT), NEPOMAK Discover Cyprus Programme (NDCP) and NEPOMAK Summer Conference will all be in full swing. Cypriot diaspora will be gathering from across the globe to connect with their culture, discover Cyprus and make new long-lasting friendships.
Twelve applicants were selected from the UK to attend this year’s NDCP. The tour started on Tuesday 3rd July where the applicants were shown their residence at the university of Cyprus and met the other participants from across the globe. The three-week programme includes a three-week study at the University of Cyprus’ School of Modern Greek in addition to dance classes and excursions across the island.
NDCP is a life changing experience for each participant, you can read the feedback from participants on our website – www.nepomak.org/uk – or you can watch the NDCP Video to see what the tour was like in 2017.
Five UK members are embarking on the NCCT which runs from 19th – 29th July. The tour is for 23-30 year olds and will set off from the historic city of Paphos. The tour will include visits to the Tomb of the Kings and Kourion in addition to experiences such as soutziouko and zivania tasting and a 4×4 Jeep tour through Troodos. The tour is a fantastic way to connect with Cypriot culture and discover the beautiful island.
37 UK members along with circa a further 80 members from the other seven member organisations will be attending the Summer Conference in Nicosia. The three-day conference consists of updates from key decision makers and political figures on Cyprus and the Cyprus issue, workshops held by NEPOMAK to shape and direct the organisation and social down time to network amongst the diaspora. The conference concludes with a cocktail reception with the President of Cyprus.
If you want to be part of any of the above in 2019, please do not hesitate to message NEPOMAK UK and get involved!!
